Learning for a Future between Tradition and Trend

We gave a musical and heartfelt welcome to our guests courtesy of our school ensemble lead by Ilga Šķendere. Our schools graduate student Inese Suija-Markova introduced us to Latvija’s nature,  municipality’s plans regarding natural resources, their usage, energy efficiency. The project participants had prepared presentations about recycling and how Latvians and what kids all around the world do to stay healthy and what they should improve. We talked about what our schools and municipalities do to teach students on a healthy diet and correct exercise. In the afternoon we introduced students to Cesis and took a bunch of lovely photos. The agenda for the week During the meeting in Cēsis March 20-24 students presented their work on healthy lifestyle and sustainable waste recycling. The questionnaire on understanding country's resources was spread on the first day. It is available here .  The presentation on how Latvia recycles is here.   ErasmusPlus zu Gast in Lettland im März 2023 Im Rahmen des ErasmusPlus-Projektes „Learning for a future: between tradition and trend“ besuchten Frau Hackstein und Herr Wolters gemeinsam mit einer acht Schülerinnen umfassenden Gruppe die Stadt Cesis in Lettland. Die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte diese Reise bildeten zum einen die Themen Nachhaltigkeit, Recycling und Energiegewinnung. Hierzu wurden einige Exkursionen sowie verschiedene Workshops durchgeführt. Darüber hinaus wurde auch ein Blick auf das kulturelle Leben Lettlands geworfen. So stand auch ein Besuch der lettischen Hauptstadt Riga und die Besichtigung einer historischen Burg des Deutschen Ordens auf dem Programm. Aber auch die baltische Folklore, traditionelle Volkstänze und Lebensweisen boten der Gruppe interessante Einblicke und unvergessliche Erlebnisse.
